For welding wrought, forged or cast 22Cr duplex stainless steels for severe service in the as-welded condition.
Heterogeneous welding between 22Cr duplex stainless steels and other stainless and low alloyed steels.

Welding typically of materials EN 1.4462, S32205, SAF 2205 or Casting grade equivalents.

Features: 

• Resistance to Pitting and Chloride induced stress corrosion cracking is maintained with Ferrite levels >30-50FN & PREN >35 typically. 
• The microstructure of the weld metal consists of austenite and ferrite 
• Welding of duplex stainless steels calls for controlled welding parameters to achieve specified mechanical and corrosion resistant properties 
• Care should be taken with welding heat input & Interpass temperature to ensure correct microstructure is achieved with approximately 50/50 austenite and Ferrite matrix. 
• Gas - Ar+2%C02 or Ar+5%C02 Argon/helium could also be used to prevent oxidation of the weld metal.
