Hampdon Industrial stocks the premium range of Magmaweld Welding Electrodes. E312 Electrodes are known for welding of dissimilar metals such as stainless steel to mild steel and low alloy steel. This electrode is Excellent for repair welding and was especially developed for steels difficult to weld, such as armour plates, austenitic manganese steel and high carbon steels. Excellent weld ability and with self releasing slag that performs well on AC and DC+ polarity. Most importantly E312 has excellent crack resistibility.

Properties and Applications:
Rutile type stainless steel electrode for joining dissimilar steels and depositing claddings on ferritic steels. The ferriticaustenitic CrNi weld metal contains approximately 50% of deltaferrite and is nonscaling up to 1100°C. It features high resistance to cracking and is therefore suited for joining difficult to weld steels and depositing stress relaxing buffer layers on crack sensitive base metals. Especially used in crack repair and buildup of tool and die steels, rebuilding of worn or cracked gear teeth, buffer layer on cutting blades. Suitable for welding galvanized steel plates. Easy arc striking and restriking. Fine metal droplet transfer, good fusion of joints faces, finely rippled flat and smooth bead surface, especially in fillet welds. Possible to use equally well both AC and DC. Easy slag removal of slag.
Manufactured to international standards:
- AWS/ASME SFA 5.4
- EN ISO 3581 A
- TS EN ISO 3580 A

Welding Position Applications:
- PA - Flat Position: Welding is performed from the upper side of the joint, and the axis of the weld is approximately horizontal.
- PB - Horizontal Position: The welding is done on the horizontal surface, and the axis of the weld is approximately horizontal.
- PC - Vertical Position: Welding is carried out on the vertical surface, and the axis of the weld is approximately vertical.
- PD - Overhead Position: Welding is performed from the underside of the joint, and the axis of the weld is approximately horizontal.
- PE - Horizontal/Vertical Position: This position is a combination of horizontal and vertical welding. The joint can be both in the horizontal and vertical planes.
- PF - 4G Position: This is a groove weld performed on the outside surface of a pipe or cylinder in a fixed vertical.
