E7024 is an iron powder, rutile coated electrode designed for high speed, single pass horizontal and flat fillet welding of mild steel. This electrode provides greater deposition efficiency and better physical properties than E7014 electrodes. E7024 offers a quiet stable arc and produces weld deposits with low spatter, free of undercuts and a "self-removing” slag. Bead appearance is superb. This electrode may be used with AC or DC (straight or reverse polarity).

Properties and Applications:

Suitable for welding of large sections and fillets in shipbuilding with it's 165% recovery. Produces very smooth, concave and clean welds, merging into base metal without undercuts. Suitable for welding prepainted plates. Easy arc striking and restriking. Slag is self-releasing in most cases

Welding Position Applications:

• PA - Flat Position: Welding is performed from the upper side of the joint, and the axis of the weld is approximately horizontal.
• PB - Horizontal Position: The welding is done on the horizontal surface, and the axis of the weld is approximately horizontal.
